Last week, my team and I took part in Stop The Deaths Naloxone training, delivered by NHS Dumfries & Galloway.
Naloxone is a medication that reverses the effects of an opioid-related overdose. Opioids are drugs like codeine, morphine, tramadol, fentanyl, heroin and methadone.
Anyone in Scotland who is likely to find someone experiencing an overdose in their family, their community, their workplace or in a public place can request a naloxone kit and be trained in its use.
You can find out more by following the link. Thanks to Ruth McCall, Specialist Addiction Nurse, for delivering the training.
